She refers to ‘whittling away’, ‘carving out’, and ‘polishing into existence’, when describing how the dynamic shapes evolve. She enjoys doing woodblock prints for the reason that in these, the compositions really can be carved out.

‘Sculptures’ – Jeff Lowe
