‘Recent Painting’ – Mali Morris

12 July 1985 — 10 August 1985

This exhibition at Castlefield Gallery brings recent work of the highly regarded painter Mali Morris to the North West. Acclaimed as one of the most interesting painter working in Britain at present, Morris` painting radiates colour and light; with freely applied washes of effect is one of unity and space, with a certain quality of harmonious ease.

Mali Morris has exhibited widely in this country, after completing her education at the universities of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Reading, and her work is also to be found in a number of public collections. In addition, she is currently a lecturer at Reading University and at Canterbury College of art.

The exhibition at the Castlefield Gallery will include an open discussion with the artist, led by a guest interviewer, at 2.30pm on Saturday 3rd August. This event is to all members of the public, free charge.

The artist will be present at the view of the exhibition, on Thursday 11th July, at 6pm to 8pm. We extend a warm welcome to you to visit the exhibition whenever you can, to see some of the most exciting work being produced in Britain at present time.
