Announcing the University of Salford Graduates Scholarship Cohort 2026/27

Castlefield Gallery welcomes six new artists to the 2026/27 University of Salford Graduate Scholarship programme, delivered in partnership with the University of Salford Art Collection.

The Graduates Scholarship Cohort this year consists of 6 selected artists:

Levi Betts (BA Fine Art)
Jarvis Best (BA Photography)
Pavani Chandana (BA Photography)
Eli Clack (BA Fine Art)
Kiera Jones (BA Photography)
William Rowe (BA Photography)

The Graduate Scholarship Programme supports graduating artists as they go from university into professional practice. Each 12-month award is tailored to the individual artist. The programme includes mentoring, coaching, research opportunities, studio provision, Castlefield Gallery Associates membership and a bursary toward research, materials or travel. At the end of the programme, each artist has the opportunity to gift a work to the University of Salford Art Collection.

We are delighted to welcome Pavani, Kiera, Levi, Jarvis, Eli and Will to the Graduate Scholarship Programme. We can't wait to start working with the 2026/27 cohort. The standard of applications this year was unprecedented – a fantastic reflection of the strength of graduating artists at the University of Salford. As the programme enters its thirteenth year, we're looking forward to supporting this talented group of practitioners alongside our programme partners at the University of Salford Art Collection, Paradise Works, Hot Bed Press and Islington Mill.

Elliott Flanagan, artist, curator and writer is the coordinator of this year’s programme. Elliot graduated from BA Visual Arts at the University in 2017 and took part in the scholarship scheme in 2017-2018. We look forward to sharing updates from the artists throughout the programme and following the development of their practices over the coming year.
