Castlefield Gallery Associates

Castlefield Gallery Associates is an artist membership programme designed to strengthen your artistic practice and support your professional development. For £5 per month (£60 per year), members gain access to a wide range of opportunities, resources and career development activities tailored specifically for artists and creative practitioners.

What does the membership include?

As a member you’ll receive regular updates on opportunities, alongside talks, workshops and skill-building sessions which are designed to help you develop your practice and build your career. Members can also share and promote their work through the gallery’s digital platforms and apply for access to our affordable studios, Castlefield Gallery New Art Spaces, (subject to availability) and other members-only opportunities.

Each year, Associates are invited to apply to our Members’ Exhibition open call. This is an opportunity to exhibit as part of our annual exhibition programme, with dedicated press, marketing and promotional support.

More than a membership scheme, Castlefield Gallery Associates is a community of contemporary artists and creative practitioners. It offers a space for critical exchange, peer support and meaningful connections between artists working across the North West and beyond.

We host monthly members-only events, and we strive to make these both in person and online to widen access. The events are shaped by the interests, ideas and professional development needs of our community. Sessions are also recorded and added to the extensive resources library within members’ accounts, giving you ongoing access to a growing archive of talks, workshops and practical guidance.

Being a Castlefield Gallery Associate gives you access to

• Monthly workshops & talks centred on creative professional development with visiting artists, writers & curators.
• One-to-one advisory sessions with Castlefield Gallery’s Director & Artistic Director and Head of Programmes.
• Opportunity to apply for the annual Castlefield Gallery Associates Members Exhibition.
• Other open call opportunities that are only accessible to Castlefield Gallery Associates.
• Opportunity to access our New Art Spaces scheme, which provides temporary work or project space to artists when we have availability.
