Castlefield Gallery are pleased to announce that The Standpoint Futures panel have now completed their selection with Beth Emily Richards and Darren Nixon being chosen for the 2017-18 interim programme for England.
Beth Emily Richards is a Plymouth-based artist-researcher investigating contemporary myth making. Her residency at Chisenhale Studios will be from 6 November – 15 December 2017. Manchester-based Darren Nixon uses painted objects as building materials for a restless set of constructions which shift and respond to the spaces in which they are built. His residency will run 8 January – 16 February 2018.
Selectors included:
Lucy Rollins, Assistant Curator Plymouth Arts Centre
Matthew Pendergast, Curator Castlefield Gallery
Louise Ashcroft, Artist Development Chisenhale Studios
Fiona MacDonald, Director Standpoint Futures
Many thanks to all the artists who applied, especially those who were shortlisted but were not on this occasion successful. It is always a privilege to see artists’ work.
