Ryan Peter French is a Manchester native, growing up in Longsight and then studying Fine Art/Painting at Manchester School of Art.

Ryan is currently studying at Teesside University on its seminal MA Curating Apprenticeship, a dual qualification alongside his work at Castlefield Gallery.

Ryan is also an artist. He works with digital mediums and oil painting, referencing classics, art history and psychogeography as he plays with tension between tradition and contemporary art within his practice. Leading workshops, collaborating with other artists & academics, exhibiting new works and completing both public and private commissions all fit around working as a coordinator in the gallery!
