Volunteer Spotlight: Yu Li

Posted on 27 September 2022

This month we have asked Yu Li to contribute to our Volunteer Spotlight series where we are asking volunteers to share their experience with us.

Thank you to our fabulous volunteers for contributing to the continued success of Castlefield Gallery.

Hi Yu Li! Tell us a little about yourself. How long have you been volunteering with Castlefield Gallery?
I am a postgraduate studying arts management at the University of Manchester. I have been volunteering at Castlefield Gallery since July 2022.

What made you want to volunteer here?
Having stayed in the vibrant city of Manchester for a year, I am looking forward to making my own contribution to the creative sector. Besides, as I plan to initiate my career in the art sector, volunteering at Castlefield Gallery allows me to gain first-hand experience and work with creative people.

What’s your favourite thing about volunteering at Castlefield Gallery?
The best thing is to meet different people who like to discuss art from their own perspectives. I also like that the staff here is super friendly and considerate.

What would you say to someone who’s thinking of volunteering with Castlefield Gallery?
This is a highly recommended opportunity for those who want to have a sense of the day-to-day operation at a gallery setting. It is flexible and does not ask for advanced skills. If you are into arts and you like meeting new people, join the team!
