Second chance to see – Julia Griffin re-performs ‘I used to be’ at Castlefield Gallery New Art Spaces: Warrington

Posted on 13 March 2022

Due to the success of ‘I used to be’ at last years Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival, Julia Griffin will re-perform this immersive installation and performance in the basement of Castlefield Gallery New Art Spaces: Warrington.

Julia’s practice is informed by the moving body and its relationship to site as object, author and archive. She is involved with the investigation, exploration and experimentation of dance through cross art form collaborations and the interplay of ‘live’ performance and the juxtaposition between ‘live action’ and ‘recorded action’.

Julia has a specific interest in Dementia and the issue the disease raises for carers, having both parents that have suffered with Vascular Dementia over a 15-year period. This work is dedicated to them.

Presented within the basement of Castlefield Gallery’s New Art Spaces Warrington, this event will immerse audiences in a multimedia experience which takes advantage of the unique venue.

Date: 1pm, 2pm, & 3pm Saturday 19 March 2022
at Castlefield Gallery New Art Spaces: Warrington, Sankey Street (former Marks and Spencer)
