HOW DO ARTISTS BUILD MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIPS WITH GALLERIES AND COLLECTORS?
For our July associates session, we will be joined by Tatiana Cheneviere who will be discussing how to build relationships between artists, galleries and collectors. Tatiana is a London based gallerist and art advisor who founded Pipeline – a commercial gallery in central London – in 2022, and in 2025 co-founded Black+Cheneviere, art consultants who are aiming to cultivate a more active and intentional role for collectors within the art ecosystem.
During the session Tatiana will draw upon her experiences of working in the commercial gallery sector. For nearly a decade, Tatiana has developed expertise in global art markets with Gagosian (a Gallery which exhibits and sells work by some of the most well-known artists of the 20th and 21st centuries, across 19 exhibition spaces from New York to Hong Kong). Tatiana will also present some of the challenges and successes involved in setting up and running Pipeline. She will share her commitment to fostering thoughtful, long-term engagement between artists, audiences, and collectors. Pipeline has been praised for cultivating slower, more meaningful engagement with artists and their practices. The gallery is named for its practice of previewing works by upcoming artists alongside the main exhibition programme. Tatiana also actively champions cross-regional collaboration, working closely with artists, galleries, and institutions across the UK.
The event will be chaired by Castlefield Gallery’s Head of Programmes, Matthew Pendergast and will include a Q&A. Attendees in person and online will be able to ask their questions about how to initiate and build relationships with galleries and collectors.
United by a shared commitment to supporting and amplifying artists’ careers, Castlefield Gallery and Pipeline have collaborated on a project to support an artist to work closely with both organisations. Via an open call process Manchester-based artist Joe O’Rourke was invited to consider how to present his work across the two distinct venues of Pipeline’s commercial gallery space in London and Castlefield Gallery’s public venue in Manchester. Disc Unknown is currently on display at Pipeline Contemporary from 4 June to 25 July. O’Rourke will then exhibit at Castlefield Gallery from 2 – 30 August 2026.
