Corridor8 Publication Launch

16 September 2017 / 4pm

Join us for the launch evening of the new Corridor8 publication commissioned in partnership with The International 3, hosted at one of our New Art Space: Great Northern Tower.

This evening celebration marks the continued evolution of Corridor8’s development as a platform for contemporary art and writing in the North of England, and the continuation of their recently established Writer-in Residence programme alongside our regional partners.

Developed in response to Castlefield Gallery’s Spring – Summer 2017 exhibition Andrew McDonald, this limited-edition publication, titled Restlessness, includes contributions by established art writers Ellen Mara De Wachter and Michael Birchall, and Writer-in-Residence at Castlefield Gallery, Iris Priest. Produced in collaboration with the multidisciplinary design collective, dust, each copy contains a limited edition insert by artist Andrew McDonald.

Acting as the culmination of the Spring – Summer 2017 Corridor8 Writer’s Residency hosted at Castlefield Gallery, the publication exists as a lasting legacy to contextualise the work of Andrew McDonald and provide a platform to show the professional development of resident Iris Priest alongside exploring wider thematic issues raised by the exhibition itself.

The launch event will follow on from our Art Writing Workshop and provide an opportunity to meet the featured writers and purchase one of the 150 limited edition publications at a special price, alongside meeting staff from Corridor8, Castlefield Gallery and The International 3. This event is free, with no booking required in advance. Great Northern Tower is a wheelchair accessible space, with refreshments provided whilst stocks last.

The Spring – Summer 2017 Corridor8 Writer’s Residency is supported by Arts Council England, Castlefield Gallery and The International 3.
