Volunteer Spotlight: Ethan Doncaster

Posted on 16 December 2022
This month we have asked Ethan Doncaster to contribute to our Volunteer Spotlight series where we are asking volunteers to share their experience with us.

Thank you to our fabulous volunteers for their amazing work.

Hi Ethan! Tell us a little about yourself. How long have you been volunteering with Castlefield Gallery?

I’ve been volunteering at Castlefield Gallery for three months now. I am a Fine Art student at Manchester Metropolitan University and I began volunteering at Castlefield Gallery as part of my course. I plan to go to Caldas da Rainha, Portugal to study Fine Art at the Instituto Politenico de Leiria in February.

What made you want to volunteer here?

I wanted to meet new people and learn how a gallery is run. Simply that.

What’s your favourite thing about volunteering at Castlefield Gallery?

The Castlefield Gallery staff is my favourite aspect of volunteering here. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The artwork that comes through here is of course another perk.

What would you say to someone who’s thinking of volunteering with Castlefield Gallery?

You should do it! The people are fun, you get to see art, learn some things about the art industry. It’s been really insightful and a real pleasure.
