22 January 2004 / 18:00 - 20:00

GUEST CURATED BY LAURA BRUCE

Featuring films by

Rui Calcada Bastos, Sean Reynard, Bjorn Melhus, Maria Marshall, Mathilde ter Hejne, Annika Lundgren, Jannicke Låker, Jeroen Offerman, Undine Goldberg, Erik Schmidt.

The works selected by Bruce explore her interest in how and why artists develop certain characters, how they may reflect their own ideas of personal identity or how these characters might be a kind of personality-extension, how artists perform as actors, how issues of narrative occur and the way film language is constantly referenced. Some works are direct explorations of character development and portrayal, while others address the theme on a more conceptual or abstract level. Bruce’s intention for the screening is to explore the variety of work being done in this area.
