PureScreen #10: Masterclass with Steven Bode

Steven Bode is Director of Film and Video Umbrella, a London-based agency whose primary activity is the curation and production of artists’ film and video work for gallery exhibition, at venues across the UK. Projects include large-scale gallery installations by Jane & Louise Wilson, Dryden Goodwin, Isaac Julien and Johan Grimonprez. In this special presentation, Bode will outline the history and practice of Film and Video Umbrella, highlighting a number of recent commissions, and offering insights into how those projects have developed. Projects to be featured include new works by Simon Faithfull, Andrew Cross, Susan Collins, Suky Best and Jananne Al-Ani. PureScreen is Castlefield Gallery’s regular screening event for artist’s film and video. The programme provides a platform for outstanding recent work and aims to support new and emerging practitioners and curators.
