PREVIEW: Superior Goods and Household Gods

5 March 2015 / 6-8pm

Join us for the preview of Superior Goods and Household Gods, an exhibition of new and existing work including sculpture, collage, performance and video, co-curated with Northwest-based artist Sarah Hardacre from 6-8pm on Thursday 5 March.

Artists: Adham Faramawy, Hannah Farrell, Sarah Hardacre, Margaret Harrison, Arnold Pollock, and Suzanne Posthumus.
Responding to the pervasive nature of dominant ideologies and their effects on our desire, the work in the exhibition is at once seductive and unnerving.

*Plus at 6:30pm there will be a live performance of a new work by artist Arnold Pollock that will include a ‘posedown’ between Pollock and international female bodybuilding competitor Karolina Botkova.

Superior Goods and Household Gods is part of Wonder Women, Manchester’s feminist festival. From Cornelia Parker to the Pankhursts, No More Page 3, Sarah Hardacre, The Unthanks and Kim Kardashian, Manchester’s feminist festival returns from the 1-31 March. Over 35 organisations across the city are taking part, with debates, music, art, cinema, gigs, bike tours, exhibitions, football, live literature, pub quizzes and much more shining a light on some of the incredible, creative and campaigning women working in Manchester and Salford today. creativetourist.com
