For the second event in our partnership with Corridor8, the journal for contemporary art and writing in the North, we have invited artist and artworker Grace Collins and Castlefield Gallery Associate Enya Koster to respond to Castlefield Gallery’s current exhibition Archives At Play 2.

The commissioned responses will be shared at an OpenTable event at Castlefield Gallery on Tuesday 30th May. After the OpenTable both responses will be published in Corridor8 contributing to a series of texts that explore and reflect upon the gallery’s exhibition programme.

The first OpenTable commission with Castlefield Gallery Associate, artist/writer Bryony Dawson and writer/curator Elysia Lukoszevieze can be read online here

Archives at Play 2 is the second in a series of exhibitions, taking the Castlefield Gallery archive as a starting point to think about how re-imagining the past opens new perspectives on the future.

The past we live in matters.  Through statues and paintings, music and images, the cultures surrounding us shape our values and visions of the future, impacting how we understand one another.  The artists in this exhibition look at history from different perspectives, finding new narratives from the past to the future.

Grace Collins (they/them) is an artist and artworker based in the North West of England.
Enya Koster is an artist, writer and member of Castlefield Gallery Associates practicing out of New Art Spaces Warrington
