Join artist Jazz Prisciandaro-Wood for a workshop in which you’ll learn how to use organic materials to create natural dyes. We’ll make small fabric collages using flowers and foliage to print and dye them, and then embroider into them words we associate with the notion of home, identity and memories, themes present in both Prisciandaro-Wood’s work and Omid Asadi’s solo exhibition at the gallery.

Jazz Prisciandaro-Wood is an Italian-English artist based in Manchester, UK. Their practice uses textiles and printing to explore ideas about identity, narrative, and the therapeutic potential of creativity. Prisciandaro-Wood’s most recent artworks explore their dual English & Italian heritage by focusing on childhood memories, folklore and food cultures. Craft processes such as hand embroidery, natural dyeing and letterpress printing are used to explore the shifting and unstable nature of remembering, and discover how memories can weave together to create the stories that shape our identities.
