HOST: Walking Tour and Artist Q&A

19 January 2017 / 5:30-7pm

Join artist Hilary Jack, along with Kate Jesson, Curator at Manchester Art Gallery and Councillor Beth Knowles, on a walking tour of Spinningfields to discover Jack’s new site-specific installation HOST, the 16/17 Spinningfields Art Commission.

HOST, by Manchester-based artist Hilary Jack, is compromised of nine discreet and intricately renderd bronze sculptures of hybrid wild plants that typically grow in forgotten urban spaces, but here emerge from corners of buildings and hidden spots across Spinningfields.

Each sculpture is unique, one of a kind, and will be sold to raise funds for the Manchester Homelessness Charter.

Guests are invited to join this event to learn more about the artist Hilary Jack, the Spinningfields Art Commission and the work of Manchester Homelessness Charter.

Meet at The Refinery, 2 Hardman Boulevard, Spinningfields, M3 3AQ

The walking tour will end at Artisan (Avenue North, 18-22 Bridge Street M3 3BZ) where guests will be offered (warm) drinks and can enjoy an informal Q&A with the artist and CEO of Allied London Michael Ingall.

The event is free but capacity will be limited so please book in advance to secure your place. Book via eventbrite HERE or emailing Jennifer Dean at Castlefield Gallery on jennifer@castlefieldgallery.co.uk

If you have any access requirements please contact Jennifer Dean on jennifer@castlefieldgallery.co.uk or 0161 832 8034.
