Winter Wassail

15 December 2020 / 18:30-20:30

For Castlefield Gallery Associates members only

In the folk tradition of wassailing, the Castlefield Gallery Associates Yuletide session takes place online with artist Olivia Glasser helping us to awaken the apple trees, scare away evil spirits and ensure a good harvest in 2021!

The session will be a chance for Associates members to reflect on the past year, take stock and look ahead. A collective breather and chance to celebrate what we’ve managed to achieve in 2020, as well as map out and celebrate the resources we have collaboratively.

There will be awards! There will be mulled wine! (As long as you brew it yourself of course). There will be many friendly faces!

Please don your most sparkly or shiny festive attire and join us online!

Olivia Glasser works across arts development, higher education and art practice. Across her work, she explores structures which enable collaborators to frame and reflect on what is already in the world. Earlier this year Olivia programmed an ambitious programme of arts workshops and events for young people in non-traditional art spaces across Salford, including Re-Dock’s interactive a/v installation Portals in a holiday club and experimental sound workshops with Tony Hall in the back room of a church. She is an associate lecturer at Manchester School of Art and the School of Arts & Media at the University of Salford. Recent publications include Instructions Manual for Times of Crisis, collaboratively made with international art collective LAUKKU, and Creative Futures, made to celebrate 27 years of the interdisciplinary BA course Interactive Arts.
