Castlefield Gallery Guardians & Patrons

As a registered charity, our mission drives our work to focus on artistic and career development for artists, as well as deepening audiences’ relationship to contemporary art. Over the last three decades we have become an integral part of the North of England’s cultural fabric and a vital support to artists across the North West and further afield.

In May 2018, we launched Castlefield Gallery Guardians & Patrons.

Castlefield Gallery Guardians will bolster all we do to create the right conditions, and empower creativity to thrive.

Our Patrons scheme is for anyone who wants to develop their knowledge and engagement with contemporary art further by accessing an annual curated programme of activity and experiences, including artist studio visits, curator tours, talks, visits and travel; whilst making a genuine difference to our ability to support the development and sustainability of arts practice in the region.

Until August 2019 Castlefield Gallery is a recipient of Arts Council England’s Catalyst: Evolve, an initiative that encourages the growth of private giving and organisational resilience. For this time-limited period Arts Council England will match each new donation we secure pound-for-pound,
so doubling the impact of your contribution.

Support us by becoming a Guardian or Patron, and be a part of the continuing story as we work towards 2024 when we celebrate our 40th year.

COMMISSIONING PATRON

Commissioning Patron is our highest-level of giving for individuals, and enables Castlefield Gallery to provide career defining opportunities for artists and curators.

It is important to Castlefield Gallery in delivering our mission, vision and values, that our starting point is always with the power and potential of the art.

To this end we take an in-depth, bespoke approach to collaboration with artists, often over extended periods of time, driving artistic and career development through our exhibition and commissioning programme. To do this we embrace artistic risk and encourage ambition in artistic production, creating some of the first opportunities for artists living and working in the region to access a professional, formally recognised exhibition context as well as significant presentation opportunities off-site and in the public realm.
