A chance for members to find out more about what makes a good Launch Pad submission, get feedback on their work, and find out more about each other’s work.
The June CG Associates session features a short session from Castlefield curator Clarissa Corfe on the Launch Pad shows so far and how the submission process has worked, as well a chance for members to show their work in small crit groups.

Our April CG Associates meeting will focus on ‘Making Your Own Opportunities’ as an artist or curator.
We invite you to join Catharine Braithwaite of Lethal Communications who will be giving a presentation on how to get noticed by the press. Catharine will then be one of four table hosts at a World Cafe session, alongside: Jason Simpson, artist and founder member of Neo Artists, who will be sharing his experience of setting up studios, exhibition spaces and local networks; Paulette Terry Brien of International 3, who will be sharing her expertise on art markets; and artist Hilary Jack, who will be sharing her experience of creating opportunities to exhibit and developing a career as an artist.

Two full day practical sessions, delivered by web developers ohdigital.
The course is aimed at people with and without websites; very beginners will be able to set up a blog and/or a simple website which can be added to from home, while artists who already have a web presence can find out how to improve it and spend dedicated time making improvements under expert guidance.

Taneesha Ahmed and Annie Carpenter, artist/curators of Rogue Project Space, talk about their current exhibition Orreries, their curatorial programme as a whole and how CG Associates can get involved with the Project Space. Antony Hall from Godlee Observatory, one of the exhibiting artists, will also be there to talk about his work and experience with the Project Space.
