New Art Spaces: Federation House

Posted on 12 September 2013

Federation House, Federation St / Balloon St, Manchester M4 2AH (

On the March 13 2014 Castlefield Gallery officially launched its flagship New Art Space at Federation House.

Housed in an eight-storey (80,000 sq ft) former Co-operative office building close to Manchester’s Victoria train station, Federation House has been transformed by Castlefield Gallery into a space for developing new art and artistic talent in the city in a partnership with NOMA.

Through New Art Spaces Federation House, Castlefield Gallery is offering spaces on a time-limited allocation rather than space allocation, therefore the artists, artist groups and artists’ development agencies working in the building will constantly be in flux and evolving.

Federation House is NOT open to the public on a daily basis but there will continue to be regular public events including screenings and exhibitions, and visitors should check the artists’ websites for information including dates and times.
