Artists, curators and those working independently in the creative industries often have to do their own digital marketing, using free social media tools. If you need to brush up on your blogging skills (or aren’t really sure where to start) come along to this workshop, which will cover the basics of setting up, posting and maintaining an interesting blog. We’ll also talk about using platforms like Twitter and Facebook intelligently, to build your audience and engage the wider community.

Kate Feld is a writer and editor who specialises in digital writing projects. She runs the Blog North Awards and its affiliated network and works nationally as a blogging trainer and consultant with organisations including Arts Council England, BBC and Manchester Museums Consortium. Her long-running blog, Manchizzle, was described as “the pick of Manchester culture and hub of blogging goodness” by the Guardian.
