This area of the site is intended to provide information and support for artists of all disciplines. Rather than attempt to provide comprehensive listings it provides links to key regional and national projects, galleries and agencies, from these in turn more in depth information can be found out about specific areas of art practice. The main focus is on the northwest but we signpost all the major national funding and professional development support agencies. For dedicated information on lens based media see the [purescreen] section of the website.
We also list key artist led activities from around the country; the aim of this is to provide artists with a way in to the grass roots activities that are taking place in a specific locations. As many artist-initiated projects are small scale, short term and receive little national attention we have attempted to highlight key groups, they will have a more in depth knowledge of activities in their area. Please [contact] us if you know of a project that you think should be listed.
Castlefield Gallery has initiated and runs www.theartguide.co.uk a dedicated information listings website on contemporary visual arts activity in the North West of England. Register your details here to subscribe to a regular e-newsletter and receive your personal invite to forthcoming events.
Castlefield Gallery has joining forces with a-n The Artists Information Company in the compilation of their OPPORTUNITIES sections both online and in a-n Magazine. Please email us your artists' opportunities to evi@castlefieldgallery.co.uk for consideration. Check out www.a-n.co.uk for details on subscribing to a-n's opportunities listing service.
